Singapore-based · Taking on Q4 engagements

AI that ships, not AI that gets discussed.

Applied AI (S) Pte Ltd helps Singapore companies get from “we should be doing something with AI” to systems that are live, governed and used by real people — usually in weeks, not quarters.

The gap we close

Most AI projects don’t fail technically. They fail at the last mile.

The demo works. The board is excited. Then it stalls — because nobody owns the workflow it has to fit into, the data is messier than the pilot assumed, or there’s no honest answer to “what happens when it gets something wrong?”

We’re an applied consultancy, which means we’re measured on what’s running at the end, not on the size of the deck. We work alongside your team, use your stack where we sensibly can, and hand over something your people can maintain after we leave.

  • Scoped to a decision, not a technology. We start from the business outcome and work backwards to the model.
  • Built for a Singapore context. PDPA obligations, lean teams, regional customers and multilingual users are the default assumption, not an afterthought.
  • No lock-in. Your repositories, your cloud accounts, your data, your IP.
What we do

Four ways we work with Singapore companies

Start wherever you are — a two-week assessment, a build, ongoing product leadership, or getting your governance in order before the auditors ask.

AI Opportunity Assessment

A structured two-to-three week review of where AI actually pays back in your business. We map your workflows, score opportunities on value and feasibility, and give you a costed roadmap you can take to your board.

  • Workflow mapping
  • Feasibility scoring
  • Costed roadmap

Applied AI Build

Design and delivery of the thing itself: an assistant, a document pipeline, an agentic workflow, a forecasting or classification service. Built on your data, evaluated properly, and deployed to production.

  • RAG & assistants
  • Agentic workflows
  • Evals & monitoring

Fractional Product Officer

Senior product leadership on a part-time retainer. We own the roadmap, the discovery cadence and the delivery discipline — one to three days a week — for companies that need a product head but not a full-time salary.

  • Roadmap ownership
  • Discovery cadence
  • Team coaching

AI Governance & Enablement

An acceptable-use policy your staff will actually follow, a risk register that maps to recognised frameworks, and hands-on training so your team stops treating AI as a novelty and starts treating it as a tool.

Fractional Product Officer

The senior product hire you need, at the fraction you can justify.

Plenty of Singapore SMEs and funded startups are stuck in the same place: engineering is shipping, sales is selling, and nobody senior is deciding what should be built and why. A full-time CPO is a S$250k+ commitment and a three-month search.

A Fractional Product Officer engagement gives you that judgement on a retainer — sitting in your leadership meetings, owning the roadmap, running discovery with real customers, and levelling up whoever is doing product work today.

  • A roadmap tied to commercial outcomes, reviewed monthly
  • Discovery habits that stop the team building the wrong thing
  • An AI point of view built into the product, not bolted on
  • A clear exit: we hire and hand over to your permanent lead
How an engagement runs

Small commitment first. Scale only if it earns it.

We’d rather prove value in a fortnight than sell you a nine-month programme on faith.

Consultation — free, 30 minutes

You describe the problem. We tell you honestly whether AI is the right answer, what it would realistically take, and whether we’re the right people for it. Sometimes the answer is “fix your data first” — we’ll say so.

Assessment — 2 to 3 weeks, fixed fee

We go deep on one area: workflows, data, systems and constraints. You get a prioritised opportunity map, a technical feasibility read, and a costed plan with the risks named out loud.

Pilot — 4 to 8 weeks

One opportunity, built for real users on real data, with success criteria agreed before we write a line of code. If it doesn’t clear the bar, we kill it — cheaply and early.

Production & handover

Hardening, monitoring, evaluation harnesses, documentation, and training for the people who’ll own it. Then either we step back, or we stay on a light retainer — your call, not a contractual default.

Why work with us

Consultancy without the consultancy overhead

Practitioners, not a pyramid

The person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. No handover to a junior team you never met at the pitch.

Governance from day one

Data handling, retention, access and human oversight are designed in at the start — not retrofitted the week before a compliance review.

Measured, or it didn’t happen

Every engagement carries a baseline and an agreed success metric. We report against it, including when the number is disappointing.

Product judgement included

We came up through product, not just engineering. That means someone is always asking whether this is worth building at all.

Fixed scope, fixed fee

Assessments and pilots are quoted as a fixed price with a defined deliverable. You know the number before you commit.

Common questions

Before you get in touch

We’re a small company. Are we too small for this?
Probably not. Small teams are often where applied AI pays back fastest, because one person’s repetitive work is a meaningful share of total capacity. If an engagement genuinely doesn’t make commercial sense for you yet, we’ll tell you at the consultation rather than sell you an assessment.
Do you need us to have clean data first?
No, but we do need to be honest about it. Part of the assessment is telling you what’s achievable with the data you have today versus what needs remediation first — and roughly what that remediation costs. Waiting for perfect data is how AI programmes die of old age.
Which models and platforms do you use?
We’re deliberately model-agnostic. Selection depends on your data sensitivity, latency needs, cost per transaction and where the workload can legally sit. That covers hosted frontier models, models running inside your own cloud tenancy, and open-weight models where isolation matters more than raw capability.
How do you handle our confidential data?
Under an NDA, with the minimum data needed for the task, held in your environment wherever possible. We design for PDPA obligations by default — purpose limitation, retention, access control and human oversight are part of the build, not a separate workstream.
Who owns what you build?
You do. Deliverables, code and documentation are yours on payment, in your repositories and your cloud accounts. We don’t keep your data or build a dependency you can’t exit.
Can you work with our existing developers or vendor?
Yes — that’s often the cheapest path. We can act as the AI specialists alongside your in-house team or incumbent agency, set the technical direction, and review their work rather than replace it.

Let’s find out if there’s something worth building.

A 30-minute conversation, no charge and no obligation. Bring the problem you keep meaning to fix — we’ll tell you straight whether AI is the answer.
